During the day long competition Dylan set four new American Records for 16-17 year lifters, accumulating a total of 602.5 KG (1328 lbs.) in the three lifts and first place for Jr. Men. With his record breaking performance it qualified him for a spot in the IPL World Championships at Las Vegas in November. Dylan lifted hard but made a couple of technical mistakes, however for his first USPA official match the new rules and three official judging systems he did very respectable. His biggest challenge for the day was the interview with the Fox Sports Net commentator and the cameras.

Wildland Fire (Mayor’s Post)

The northwest skyline presented a pretty spectacular sight last evening as a lightning caused fire quickly spread through the cheat grass and juniper trees near Enterprise. Enterprise City fire first responded and were joined by trucks and firemen from Beryl and Newcastle. Resources poured in during the evening and night from Iron County public works, Color Country Fire, Forest Service, and BLM. Enterprise City fire remained on scene all night with several trucks and personnel. BLM assumed incident command and will be mopping up for the next few days. There were some structures initally threatened, but were quickly protected with a variety of trucks and manpower. Someone remarked on Facebook it was the most exciting thing to happen of the whole summer.

Enterprise City is dependent on our team of trusted volunteer firefighters. They are trained and dedicated and we salute those who leave their families and jobs. Our volunteer EMS service is nearing 100 medical calls for the year. We could not do this were it not for the volunteer spirit and willingness to serve that exists here in our community.
