Cedar City LDS Temple Is Still on Track for Late 2017

Cedar City, Utah – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints officially announced a new temple was to be built in Cedar City on April 6, 2013. The location was chosen in a prime location at 300 South Cove Drive in Cedar City. Just over two years later the LDS church held their groundbreaking ceremony on August 8, 2015 with 1,600 in attendance. The construction team is on schedule according to LDSChurchTemples.com which says the LDS church is anticipating the completion of the temple in late 2017.  After completion, open house dates will be announced for temple tours that will be open to the public for a short period of time.

The LDS church currently has 173 temples throughout the world. LDSChurchTemples.com reports 149 operating, 14 under construction and 10 announced.

A Facebook page dedicated to the Cedar City Temple brings you updates on temple progress. They mentioned the temple will be around 42,000 square feet in size, which is perfect for the area.
