Enterprise High Comes Away Winners at State Track and Field

PROVO, UT – Enterprise High School had a successful track and field season and they continued to impress as they came away from state competitions at Brigham Young University with big wins.

The Wolves track team took third place at state and the girl’s and boy’s teams combined for fourth place.

Jaslyn Gardner has dominated all season long and had two final meets of her life. Region she broke the state record in both the 100 and 200. She made history by running the 200 faster than any other girl in Utah. She is also the first Utah girl to ever break 24 seconds. She was named outstanding track athlete of the met. At the state competition, Gardner earned 3 state championships in the 100, 200 and the long jump.

Shelby Lyman is the state champion in Javelin with a 124-07.25

John Oswald, Caleb Koopman, Ron Esplin and Jay Gardner broke the school record with a time of 43.93 in the 4×100 to become the state champions.

Caleb Koopmans placed 2nd in Javelin

Ellie Shurtliff placed 4th in the 300m Hurdles

Hannah Beckstrand placed 4th in the discus

Ron Esplin placed 4th in the 100 and 6th in the 200

John Oswald placed 5th in the 100m

Jessica Holt, Allison Yardley, Tressa Carter and Ellie Shurtliff took 8th in the 4X4 relay

Allison Yardley placed 8th in the 800

Mette Williams placed 7th in the high jump

Jay Gardner placed 7th in the high jump

Sherri Platt placed 7th in the shot put

Jayson Holt and Shelby Lyman were named to Academic Allstate in Track and Field
