The Enterprise FFA club hosted an Ag Day on November 7th. Nine Schools from Southern Utah attended and were enriched by their learning experience. Students arrived shortly before 9:00am and rotated between different sites. Stotz Equipment, IFA, and Holt Farms each hosted a site. Over 250 students had the opportunity to learn about different aspects and future opportunities in agriculture
Stotz Equipment taught the students about tractor mechanics and gave a presentation to each of the groups about their business. Students also learned that Stotz offers scholarships to students interested in furthering their mechanical skills.
The students took a tour of the Holt Dairy and learned about cows and milking process. At the hay cubing facility, they found out how cubes are made and how the shipping process works. Students were also given a tour of the potato facility.
IFA taught the students about agronomy and answered many questions regarding agriculture and current issues in the industry. Professional agronomists and businessmen took time to instruct students and broaden their understanding.
After touring the local businesses, IFA cooked all the students hamburgers for lunch. All the schools drove home more educated about agriculture at the end of the afternoon.
