Enterprise Volleyball Take Fourth In 2A State Tournament

OREM, UTAH – Enterprise Lady Wolves went into the 2A playoffs with high expectations. They were undefeated in conference play and ended their regular season rolling over the competition.

Enterprise took on American Leadership Academy in the first round of the 2A playoffs and made quick work of the Academy winning 25-9, 25-9, and 25-16. The Wolves were lead by their six hungry seniors looking to bring home a championship trophy. Senior, Tory Phelps said, “It would be great if we could win the championship in my senior year.”

The Wolves next faced Emery High in the Quarterfinals and continued to fire on all cylinders and swept Emery in three sets, 25-11, 25-13, and 25-18. Enterprise was looking strong and only had two more games left until the championship game.

Everything changed when Enterprise entered the Semi-finals and faced off against North Summit that beat them earlier in the year at the Utah Tournament of Champions. Enterprise struggled in the first game falling 20-25. Enterprise played a strong second game but fell short 20-25. Enterprise lost the third set 12-25 and ended their run to the championship game. This is the first time in five years that Enterprise has not made it to the championship game.

Enterprise struggled to find their game after a devastating loss and couldn’t handle their next opponent Delta High and lost in 3-1 taking fourth place in the 2A state tournament.

North Summit proved to be the unstoppable team as they beat South Summit in four sets and earned the school’s first ever state championship.
