Hidden Figures Tops Rogue One On Opening Weekend

Hidden Figures took the top spot at the box office this weekend with $22.8 million over Rogue One that has held the top spot since it was released on December 16th, 2017.
Hidden Figures is a film about three brilliant African-American women at NASA — Katherine Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe) — they serve as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn (Glen Powell) into orbit, a stunning achievement that restored the nation’s confidence, turned around the Space Race and galvanized the world.
