Are Your NCAA Tournament Bracket Picks Ready?
It’s March Madness time which means the NCAA Tournament office pools are being filled out and typically won by the person picking the cutest names.
The first round tends to be what makes or brakes a bracket with matchups that seem like a great win on paper but tend to cause trouble as higher seeds seem to somehow squeak by to create Major upsets. George Mason (11 seed) made a run to the final four in 2006, and Bradley (13 seed) upset Kansas and Pitt to advance to the Sweet 16 that same year. St. Mary’s (10) beat Villanova (2), while Northern Iowa (9) defeated Kansas (1) in 2010.
The top 10 teams this year have really struggled losing some important easy games and this can cause you to have major heartburn when picking your teams.
A few upsets to watch out for in the 2016 match up.
Hawaii (13) over Cal (4) Hawaii is lead by Junior Stefan Jankovic and Cal has beaten good teams, but has a problem with turnovers
Yale (12) over Baylor (5) Yale is on a run heading into the tournament with Senior Justin Sears leading the team. Baylor hasn’t proven to be a strong team this season.
Arkansas-Little Rock (12) over Purdue (5) Arkansas-LR plays great defense, and has great possession of the ball while Purdue is sloppy with their turnovers and doesn’t shoot well.
Stephen F. Austin (14) over West Virginia (3) This is a popular bracket buster as Stephen FA adds pressure with a solid deep bench and doesn’t make many mistakes. West Virginia forces turnovers and doesn’t play all 4 quarters
Our Final Four pick comes down to Kansas (1), North Carolina (1), Oklahoma (2), and Virginia (1). They all are too strong with talented players that make the difference down the stretch as defensive teams win games. We have seen many of these teams falter in the first round and can happen this year also with many upsets coming. Keep an eye out on Kentucky, Michigan St. Iowa State and Texas.

We even have two Utah teams who have made the tournament this year with Weber State (15) and the University of Utah (3). President Obama picked the Utah Utes to make it all the way to the Sweet 16, but the past few runs in the tournament seem to be a let down in the first round for Utah teams.
