Pine Valley Recreation Area is OPEN

PINE VIEW, UT – The United States Department of Agriculture Forest Sevice and Dixie National Forest of the Pine View Ranger District has re-opened most of the recreation area in Pine Valley.

The Saddle Fire began June 13 with a lighting strike on Saddle Mountain in the Pine Valley Mountain Wilderness of the Dixie National Forest. The fire started approximately 2.5 miles south west of Pine Valley, Utah.

The Saddle fire is 2,298 acres and 72 percent contained. Fire activity within fire control lines remains south of Lloyd’s Canyon.

Personnel will remain in the area as they continue to monitor and strengthen control lines. Residents and visitors coming to the area are asked to monitor fire activity and use caution around working fire equipment.

The closed roads and trails are shown on the map below.
